Barry seemed to always know how to make you feel loved. I had a yellow dress that I loved. One spring day I wore it to church and he told me I looked like a Daffodil! I think of Barry whenever I see Daffodils to this day! Heaven will be a great reunion!

I would like to say how deeply heartbreaking this news was to me. Barry was such a wonderful friend to Aunt Susan and Uncle Norm - and so he was such a great friend to all the rest of our family. Our condolences to Cheryl and family. Barry was a good friend in college. I have especially fond memories of the summer of 1972. Barry and I (and Duane Roseth and Jack Soesbe) spent a good share of the summer at ROTC Summer Camp at Fort Lewis, Washington. We had some very memorable weekends. Rest in peace, friend. Ken Odde

Vince and Micky Wienk

Spearfish, SD

I remember the day Barry walked into study hall at Newell High School. He was with other 8th grade students from country school who were on a student orientation visit. Wow, he was a handsome young cowboy. When we'd run into Barry at various places, Vince and he would talk about cattle and flying. For them, airplanes were a mode of transportation, much like a car or pickup to other people. Barry was a good pilot. We often saw him in Lake Preston the summer he moved cattle to pasture there. What a good guy. He obviously loved God, his family, his profession and he loved to fly. Condolences to his family.
