Joyce, Brit, and family: I was devastated to hear about Dan. Some of my best memories are of hanging out at your cabin and of the relentless teasing I received from that man. He will be very missed! You are all in my thoughts!

Mrs. Keith and family, I was a student of Mr. Keith’s at Twin Spruce in the late 1980s. I had some pretty serious health problems then, and had missed quite a chunk of school. When I finally returned, the first thing Mr. Keith said was “Our class is now complete again.” He made an awkward junior high girl feel seen and valued, and he holds a special place in my heart because of it. Sincere condolences to all.

Becky Brooks

Belle Fourche, SD

To the families of Daniel Kelly Keith: I am Lacey's Aunt Becky and I want to send my deepest sympathy to all of you for the loss of your husband, father, grandfather, and uncle. I never met Dan in person, but by reading his obituary he was a wonderful man who would do anything for anyone. It sounds like he liked to play jokes on everyone. May the memories you have of him help all of you through this difficult time. With deepest sympathy at this time. Becky Brooks(Lacey's Aunt)

Joyce and family, I am so sorry to hear about Dan. My heart aches for you. I met Dan and Dean years ago when I worked for SD tourism before I taught in Gillette. I will never forget those two. They were quite the pair. My dad had a few stories about them too. I don’t know if I ever told you that, Joyce. Dan will be missed by so many people. Sending you my thoughts, prayers, and hugs.

Family of Dan,Dan and Joyce were so very good to Evelyn Rush years ago when they lived next to her in the Hustead Trailor Court, Wall.As we age, we so realize how generous neighbors are to us; therefore, we think about our old parents and their neighbors. We also were invited to stay at Dan and Joyce's mobile home during Rush Reunion and Keiths were gone. It was our one and only time to sleep in a water bed.Thank you, family of Dan's, for the great memories. We are so sorry for your loss. Jack,Gayle, Margaret Rush

Joyce and family, Vicki and I are very sad to hear the news of Dan. I remember my first ever teacher observation at Twin Spruce Junior High. During the middle of the class a man in a gas mask and lab coat walked up to me with a lunchbox and handed it to me, without uttering a word, doing a successful job of interrupting my lesson in front of the principal, Mr.While. We know Dan and his sense of humor will be missed by many! Your family is in our prayers.

Dear Joyce and family, I was so sad when I heard the news and have been keeping your family in my prayers. Mr. Keith was my all-time favorite teacher. I had him for 9th grade Biology at Twin Spruce in 1988-89. His class was definitely the highlight of my middle school years! I still think of him frequently when certain things happen in my life (funny science things which make me laugh). I was reading through my yearbook a few months ago and Mr. Keith had signed it, and I laughed and laughed at what he had written. He was such a positive and smiling person and I loved his sense of humor. My friends and I always had such a blast in his class. I became a teacher because of teachers like him. I hope that sometime throughout my years of college and visiting FUMC in Gillette, I shared with him how great of a person I thought he was. My sincere condolences and prayers for your family.

Dear Joyce and Family, I was so sad to hear about the loss of Mr. Keith, one of my all-time favorite teachers from the late 80's at Twin Spruce in Gillette. He had the funniest sense of humor, and made every day fun. He was an amazing teacher and person. He will be missed - I will keep you all in my prayers. Love, Jennifer Sparks Trujillo
