Laverne Elliott

February 24, 1924 - March 20, 2018

Kristine a Walker

I remember her as my 3rd grade teacher. She was so nice and caring. I also took care of her while she lived at Aspen grove. She will always have a special place in my heart. Rest in peace Mrs Elliot

Mrs. Elliott, who's name cant help but put a smile on your face if you were lucky enough to have had her as a teacher or just knew this lovely lady as the beautiful woman she was. who's caring heart and stern teaching actually taught so much more. she will forever be one of the best teachers I ever had.

I was blessed to Student Teach with Laverne! She was an awesome teacher and I have treasured those memories. She truly loved her students and wanted the best for them. I remember those words, "FUN,FUN, FUN!" Thank you Laverne for instilling those words as I began my teaching.

Mrs. Elliot was my first grade teacher. I have so many fond memories of her and our class. She brought us seashells from her trip to California once, making Stone Soup, and being a strength to our class when the shuttle exploded. Such a champion for her students and reading. I got to work with her a bit in high school when I worked at the Ft Meade Museum one summer. Such a bright light in so many kids lives. Thoughts and prayers to her family and friends.

Fondly, I remember first, "Mrs.Elliot," from my elementary school days in Sturgis. Honestly; who couldn't remember her? My most recent memories of "Laverne" were from her interaction with the Arts Council and her love for pretty things; including flowers. She became one of my most favorite customers when I worked at the Flower Shop. I am thankful to have known her and I can hear her pleasant Texan drawl... what a wonderful lady; Praying for your family and thanking God for allowing her to be a small, yet memorable part of my life.

I am so sorry for your loss. May the words of our loving heavenly Father bring your family comfort and strength during this most difficult time as He promises to bring our loved ones back to life in a perfect world where there will be no more suffering or death (John 5:28-29 & Revelation 21:4).
