Karl influenced me in so many ways and I reflect on all of the time I got to spend with him through the years. When you grow up in someplace, like Enning, you grow close to your neighbors and they become more than neighbors to you. They become family. My fondest memories of Karl, more than anything, were those times when we saw each other. Every time we did, we could always make each other laugh. As I sit here thinking about those times, it puts another big old smile on my face thinking about which one of us could give the other one a more difficult time. As I reflect on these lifelong friends, neighbors, role models, and people that I will truly miss, it made me think of the short list of men, like this, that seem to just have left us too soon. I sit here and think of guys like Bill Cross, Bub Bradley, Norman Sanders, and now Karl Richter. All of you will live with me forever and put a smile on my face in reflection.

Neoma and family, I am sorry for your loss. "Back in the day" I spent lots of time with Karl and have fond and hilarious memories of doing so, some of which cannot be shared in polite company :) Apart from the good times, Karl was a good friend with a kind heart...and someone you knew would be in your corner when the chips were done. May the good memories you hold sustain you through this difficult time...and may you RIP, Karl.

I remember as a kid reading letters that his mom had shared with me, that he had written to them, while he was in the service. He was always a prankster and just full of it with enough energy for ten guys and a laugh that I can clearly hear right now. Mom taught him in grade school at Enning and said he had a mighty temper as well if he got ticked off! He will surely be missed by all.
