He will be missed by many! You will all be in our thoughts and prayers in the coming days and years as you go through this trialing time of loss. Memories are a mans best friend!!!
I remember Gene as the "calm" guy. Whenever you talked to him ,he didn't elaborate on any of his problems..just smiled and ALWAYS seemed glad to see everyone at the reunions. So sorry to hear he has passed on, very nice man.
Dear Mary, Kathy, Barney and families, We were so sorry to hear Gene finally lost the battle, but he was a great example to all of us in his courage and strength in the fight. We will be praying for all of you as you try to adjust to life without him. May God give you comfort through all the wonderful memories of Gene and the love of your friends! Sincerely, Clark and Janice
I met Gene & Mary in 1996, when I came to Sturgis for the first time to a "HD" rally. They opened up their home to some friends and myself. They also opened up their heart to us also. I have returned several times to visit and have always enjoyed staying with them. I learned that Gene was a great man that cared for his family and also his friends. I personally will miss Gene. I will always remember the first words that I heard him say to the group that came to visit him in 1996, ' GUYS, IT'S BEER THIRTY TIME". Mary,I will always remember you and Gene and will keep you in my prayers.
He was one of the greatest uncles I could of had. He will be greatly missed. Keep the great memories in your hearts and he will be with you always. You are in our thoughts and prayers during the very difficult time. We are there if you need us anytime.

Gene will be remembered as a person who could always be counted on to do his utmost for a friend and to keep his word. He will be greatly missed by the area's cattle industry.
Gene is/was an inspirstion to all who knew him. The words "give up" were not in his vocabulary. Whenever we saw Gene he always had a smile on his face and a huge welcoming "Hello". Even an occasional hug for me(Linda).Gene will be greatly missed and always remembered. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. The happy memories and stories you will be sharing in the days to come will help in a way.
Our thoughts and prayers go to the friends and family of Gene. May comfort find you through this tough time.

Dear Mary & family, I was so saddened to learn of Gene's death. I know of no one who battled this tougher, and came back time and time again. Our family knows the loss you feel, and the emptiness in your heart and in your home. At last, he is pain free and cancer free, and we all must find comfort in that. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this most difficult time of your lives. Bonnie Jones & Family

What a great man we just lost, and what a great angel God has aquired. Gene will be greatly missed and we are sorry for your loss.It will be the little things we remember... the smiles, the laughter, the looking at bulls or the filming of calves. Ron remembers the days working at the feed store with Gene. My memories begin in 4-H and Western Junior. But one of our fondest memories of Gene is when he made a special trip out to see us when Georgia was diagnosed with cancer. He came out and shared with us what to expect and to give us support. He will never know the strength and courage he gave to Georgia and us as well. He was working as God's angel here on Earth, showing us that we can fight cancer, we can live longer than expected and we can live each day to its fullest. Thank you for sharing Gene with all of us and believe us when we say those memories of the little things will help push away the pain and bring back the smiles again. God Bless you all, Ron and Kerry

You are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Family is a wonderful thing and it sounds like his family was the most important thing to him. I pray God is with you during this time of loss. Love Deanne and Tim Moes
We wanted to take this opportunity to express our condolences to the Jorensen's family. As a friend, neighbor and fellow-rancher, Gene was always willing to lend a hand, share a laugh and show kindness. His legacy serves as a reminder to us all that strength of character comes from a generous heart and the soul of a "good" man. Our hope for Mary, Kathy, Barney and family is the understanding that we also saw and felt (what they already knew)it was a great privilege to know Gene and a sincere honor to remember him....
Mary and family - our thoughts and prayers go out to you. May you always keep his memories close to your heart.
Dear Mary,Kathy,Barnery & family. I just rec/v the news and was deeply saddened by your loss. I remember Gene and I talking about farming here in NC, the cows, hay, and other things. He will always be remembered here by our family. My parents came out there one year with me and Gene took us out to the hay field..our entire farm was 108 acres..Genes one small hay field was 320 acres! I could not conceive of all the work to be done on a 5000 acre ranch. But like Gene, if you love ranching/farming its not work, its a joy. We miss him greatly and our families prayers are with you.
Jerry's family, Our thoughts, prayers and sympathy in the loss of Gene. May the many special and wonderful memories you have help be a comfort to you. Jr. and Carol
Gene's family.
