Victor "Vic" Greenwaldt, 87, Sturgis, died Monday, November 8, 2010 at the Sturgis Regional Hospital.

Visitation will be noon until 9 p.m. on Friday and 8 a.m. until noon on Saturday at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, November 13, 2010 at the Grace Lutheran Church in Sturgis with Pastor Mike Fox officiating. Burial follows at the Bear Butte Cemetery in Sturgis.

A memorial has been established to the Sturgis Lions Club Sight projects.

Vic was born October 25, 1923 at Minatare, NE, to Henry and Anna Elizabeth (Uhrig) Greenwaldt. At the age of 6 he moved to Vale, SD with his parents. He attended school in Nisland and Vale.

Vic married Donna Barden at Sturgis, SD on August 25, 1948.

They lived on the family farm before moving to Sturgis. Vic drove a bulk gas truck for Jack Bachand. He owned a service station on Lazelle and Junction Ave for 13 years.

Vic retired in 1981. He enjoyed traveling with bus tours visiting family.

Survivors include his wife, Donna Greenwaldt, Sturgis; son Randall (Gail) Greenwaldt, Black Hawk; daughters, Cheryl Hinzman, Rapid City, Sandra (Walt) Gardner, Kent, WA; one sister Mildred Pickinpaugh, Vancouver, WA; also 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and five sisters.
